Felix Hohl was born in Essen and is a self-taught tattoo artist now living and working in Wassenberg, Germany. His journey began at 18, after getting his first tattoo and feeling disappointed with its quality. He started in a small backroom of his flat, practicing on himself and soon on close friends, driven by the mindset of raising the standard. As demand grew, “the ball started rolling,” leading him to officially register his business in 2016.
In 2018, together with the mother of his two sons, he opened Hautfarbe Tattoo & Piercing on Erkelenzerstraße 45 in Wassenberg, NRW. Today, his work reflects the same dedication that first pushed him to begin — a commitment to quality, growth, and building something lasting.

Originally from Durham in the North East of England, Marie Nicholson has always been driven by art, with a biro pen as her first and constant medium. After studying Illustration and Animation at Newcastle College, tattooing was suggested to her at a young age — but at 18, the path felt intimidating. Instead, life led her through different chapters, including serving in the Royal Navy and working in mental health, all while continuing to create commissioned artwork.
Even as her journey took unexpected turns, art remained the one constant. At 32, determined to fully commit to her creative calling, Marie pursued tattooing despite early knockbacks. She eventually began her apprenticeship under Alex Williamson at Lost Tower Tattoo in Hartlepool, where she continues to work and refine her craft today.
Her style is rooted in detail and texture — a meticulous approach that translates her illustration background into tattoos rich in depth, precision, and character.
